Ranches Nursery Curriculum

Learning Through Play

At Ranches Nursery, we believe in the power of learning through play, which is why we embrace Continuous Provision. This approach allows children to explore various activities and resources at their own pace, fostering their natural curiosity and inquisitiveness. Our skilled practitioners use Continuous Provision to facilitate learning, carefully observing and guiding young children as they engage in play-based activities. Learning through play has numerous benefits, including developing problem-solving skills, enhancing social interactions, and promoting creativity and imagination, all of which contribute to a strong foundation for future learning.

The Curriculum

Our nursery curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a comprehensive framework designed to support young children's learning and development. The EYFS curriculum is centred around three key areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication and Language; and Physical Development. These foundations are reinforced through specific focus on Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. By focusing on these areas, we encourage learning from an early age and ensure our children are well-prepared for a seamless transition into primary school.

Above all, we nurture secure, happy children who leave the nursery with the confidence they need to tackle the next stage in their learning journeys.
